You don't need a better swing to break 80.

Most golfers don't struggle
because of their technique.

They struggle because they don't have a way of playing the game. Golf is three things — and most coaching ignores two of them.

01
Decisions
What shot you choose — and why
The average mid-handicapper loses 4–6 shots per round to poor decisions — not poor ball-striking. Club selection, pin attacking, tee shot strategy. These are free shots you can claim without touching your swing.
02
Discipline
Whether you commit to it under pressure
Half-commitment causes more poor shots than poor mechanics. If you're standing over the ball thinking "don't go left" or "don't mess this up" — you're already in trouble before the club moves.
03
Environment
Pressure, real lies, real consequences
The course on Saturday is nothing like the range on Tuesday. Until you have a system that bridges that gap, your swing will never hold up when it matters most.

I've seen golfers break 80 for the first time without changing a single thing about their swing. They simply stopped making the decisions that were costing them strokes.

The range is lying to you.

You're building confidence in a version of golf that disappears the moment it matters.

❌ On the Range
Perfect, flat lie every single time
Unlimited attempts — no consequence for a bad one
No pressure — just repetition
Same shot, same distance, over and over
Confidence in a game that doesn't exist
You practice in an environment that doesn't exist in real golf.
✓ On the Course
Uneven lies, slopes, rough, hardpan
One shot — no do-overs, no mulligans
Real pressure — score, mates, money on the line
New shot, new situation, every single time
One chance to commit and execute
The fix isn't more range time. The fix is a system for how you play.

The Real Life Method™
Non-Negotiables

Five of the 17 rules inside the free guide. Apply them from your very next round — no swing changes required.

01
Play To Your Carry — Not Your Ego
Most golfers choose clubs based on their best shot. Better golfers choose based on their reliable carry distance. That one decision alone saves multiple shots per round — without touching your swing.
I always club up to my comfortable carry distance — never my maximum.
02
Never Hit Without a Clear Target
Indecision creates tension. Tension ruins execution. Before every shot: pick a precise target and commit fully. Not the green. Not the flag. A specific point. No grey area — ever.
I pick a specific target before every single shot.
03
Commit Fully or Step Away
Half-commitment causes more poor shots than poor mechanics. Standing over the ball thinking "don't go left"? You're already in trouble. Commit fully — or step away and reset your routine.
If I can't commit, I step off and start my routine again.
04
Stop Fixing Your Swing Mid-Round
The course is not the place to rebuild your swing. Every mid-round swing thought makes you more inconsistent. Play what you have on the course. Fix it on the range afterwards.
On the course I play my game. I fix my swing on the range.
05
Eliminate Big Mistakes
Breaking 80 isn't about hitting perfect shots. It's about avoiding the shots that destroy your scorecard. Before every shot near trouble: ask what the worst outcome is. If the answer is a double or worse — choose a different shot.
Before every shot near trouble, I identify the bail-out zone first.

Reading this is one thing.
Applying it is another.

Most golfers understand what good course management looks like. They can explain the smart play. But when they're on the first tee on Saturday — pressure on, money on the line, mates watching — something different takes over.

🧠Pressure kicks in — and old instincts take over. The driver comes out without a thought.
🎯Ego overrides logic — the hero shot at a tucked pin looks very tempting from 155 yards over water.
💭Doubt creeps in — half-commitment follows. The outcome is almost always poor.

Understanding what to do and actually doing it under pressure are completely different skills. The guide bridges that gap.
